Part II (Oxford MChem)

We welcome applications for Part II, and will offer 2-3 places for 2025 start. There are a wide variety of projects available and you are encouraged to visit the group to find out more before you apply. During visits, you will have a chance to look around the lab,  talk with current students about their projects and experiences, and to learn more about the science we do.  Projects vary in their balance between experiment and theory; most projects are strongly experimental with some theory or analysis component.

DPhil

In Oxford, the doctoral degree is called 'DPhil'. We usually take 1-2 new DPhil students each year, for doctoral studies of 3-4 years duration. If you are interested in joining us for DPhil please enquire directly by email in the first instance with your CV and a note about why you are motivated to join us.  If you have suitable background experience and qualifications the next step typically involves a discussion and visit to the group.  After this you make a formal application through the Oxford graduate admissions system, which has deadlines in November and in January. You will receive a formal decision after this. You will also find out about any studentship (funding) offered to you, at this point. We are glad to receive applications from both self-funding students (e.g. coming with national bursaries) or students seeking funding.

Postdoctoral Research Associates / Fellows

We welcome enquiries from prospective postdoctoral fellows who are interested in holding an independent research fellowships within our research laboratory. We can assist with applications for Royal Society URFs, Newton International Fellowships, Junior Research Fellowships, Marie-Curie Fellowships, and others.

We also offer funded postdoctoral positions from time to time, and these are always advertised on the Oxford Chemistry jobs page. If you're interested please get in touch.
